My journey as Occupational Therapist...
My professional expertise:

I learned about OT while working as a volunteer in a psychiatric hospital, back in my country. I was 17 years old. I loved it.

I loved that I needed to know as much as people's clinical background as their life hobbies and general interests.

I loved that I should heal mental or motor conditions by doing things that filled people's hearts (dancing, playing, crafting, cooking…)

I loved that an indicator of health was making sure that everyone had someone else, making communities.

This guided me to start my studies in this field… which I ultimately understood as a profession aimed to help people find ways to live a fulfilling life.

In my first job, I decided to work with children. It was something in the way how they engaged in their life activities, with joy and innocence that only childhood can give. Everything they do influences the adults that they will become. I feel lucky to be part of their journey.

In my therapies I help them accomplish challenges in which they discover their skills, learn to overcome difficulties, learn to accept their struggles, finding ways to reach their potential.
